Yep! Youtube did a big purge today.

Take some time to make sure you’re still subbed to your favourite channels 🙂 

BTW these happen all the time. Youtube is constantly checking to see if subscribers are actively engaged in the channels they sub to and watching the content. If a large enough time passes and you aren’t watching that content anymore, YT might unsub you from it to keep things more accurate. It also clears out dead, inactive or spam accounts that sub to channels. These purges are often better for creators because it shows more accurate sub counts. It just sometimes misfires and can hit regular viewers by accident
