Brother’s Worth

(Story takes place in the past when the Bros were kids.)

After receiving some advice and tips from Martin, Chris set off to the park to confront a bully who has taken something from him.

Chris: There he is! I’m going. And if I need help, you’ll come over. Right?

Martin: Not like you’ll need it, but yeah. And just remember what I taught you.

Chris: Okay, here I go. Wish me luck!

Chris walks up to the bully sitting at a park bench.

Chris: Hey, you!

Bully: Oh, it’s you. What do you want, Green Pea?

Chris: I want my special necklace you took from me! Or else!

The bully, amused at Chris’s words, gets up from the bench and towers over Chris, attempting to intimidate him.

Bully: PFFT! Or else what?

Remembering his brothers advice, Chris stands his ground. Not letting fear control him. It’s like Martin said, “The world is just like the wild. If you let people treat you like dirt, they think they can get away with it and treat everyone else like so. It’s not until a brave creature stands up for himself and others in order to bring justice and peace back to the pack.”

Chris: Or else I’m going to make you sorry!

Chris gets into an odd position, as if ready to pounce on the bully. This allowed the bully to look over Chris and see Martin with crossed arms and a very displeased look on his face.

Martin: (Nods his head no and slams his fist into his open plan, threateningly.)

Bully: (Gulp) H- hear! Just p-please don’t hurt me!

With this, the bully hands back the necklace and runs as fast as his legs could carry him.

Martin: AND IF I HEAR YOU STARTING TROUBLE WITH MY BRO OR ANYONE ELSE, YOU’LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH BOTH OF US! You sure showed him, bro.

Chris: (astonished) Martin, look! I did it! All by myself too!

Martin: I told you, you wouldn’t need my help. What’s so special about this necklace, anyway?

Chris holds up the necklace to reveal the words “MK & CK 4EVER!”

Chris: It’s the necklace you gave to me for my birthday.

Martin: (Filled with emotions) You went through all that trouble for a stupid necklace I made you?

Chris: It’s not stupid! It means no matter what, we’re going to stay brothers forever.

Martin: ….I guess, it does.

With this, the Bros share a sweet hug.

Martin: Come on! I’ll go buy us some ice cream!

With that, the brothers went for a frozen treat. The bully never bothered anyone again and returned everything else they took. It goes to show that Martin and Chris are more than just brothers, they’re best friends.
